An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join an internationally established provider of maritime services.

Previous experience with planning and supervising ship condition surveys, repairs and upgrades.

Responsibilities

You will report to the Technical Services Director and your main accountabilities are:

preparing or reviewing specifications for new build and conversion/repairplanning retrofitting of equipment and life extension of existing shipson-site supervisionperform engineering and naval architectural calculations provide CAD draughting support

CANDIDATE

We are looking for an experienced marine professional for independent engineering work and project management. You should be able to plan and supervise ship condition surveys, repairs and upgrades. Candidates should have experience in ships machinery and piping systems, developments in environmental legislation and propulsion optimisation. Work will involve maintenance, upgrading ships to comply with environmental legislation, implementation of energy efficiency management.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Planner for a contract role in the Portsmouth dockyard.

Previous Planning Experience

The main purpose of the role is to create and maintain project plans for new programmes and/or progress and maintain existing project plans. This will require the implementation of the project WBS, OBS and the allocation of budgets , and the sequencing of work consistent with a workable logic.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:
- Monthly reports from the project plan to the PM function
- Resource Profiles.
- Trend analysis of key events in the plan
- Impact assessment of impending change
- Critical Path analyses
- Advice to the Line Manager on pending issues and possible solutions
- Periodic analyses of Schedule Performance Indicator’s
- “What if” analyses in support of issues arising from the plan (s)
